As mentioned above, the start-up of a food co-op is a multi-phase process. While it seems a bit long and drawn-out, it is important to properly go through the phases to ensure the independence and sustainability of the business. All well-planned and executed businesses go through this, but in a co-op transparency is in the forefront because all the owners are equal, and our community is our major stakeholder.
